Why did Jesus speak in parables? Why were/are there mysteries in the Bible?
If satan had understood the purpose and power of the cross and redemption, the events leading to the crucifixion of Jesus would not have happened. Satan would have stopped the events leading to the crucifixion of Jesus if he understood the prophetical significance of that event because that event: the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, was the foundational event that was the legal remedy to what happend at the Fall of mankind in the garden of Eden.
Matthew 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
I Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Even in the earth, in the business world, in politics, in NGOs, there are things done in secret, things with non-disclosure agreements, things done behind the scenes, out of the view of the public. Why? Well, particularly if the agendas are nefarious things destructive to mankind, public outrage would prevent nefarious strategies from moving forward.
Would the Lord God be any less circumspect (speaking humanly) about what was necessary for Jesus to complete the mission of redemption?
