D. James Kennedy Ministries

Dr. D. James Kennedy was before his time in recognizing the need for the church to be involved in the culture.

Another person who recognized the need for Christians to be involved in the culture was Francis Schaeffer.

To learn more about Dr. D. James Kennedy’s work, message, and writings, click here.

And while we are on the topic of those whose thoughts help shape culture and help others see how thoughts shape culture, the book “The Abolition of Man” by C. S. Lewis, is a short, but important read.

Christians recognize the importance of these scriptures regarding thoughts and the mind.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

But the renewing of the mind must take place in the culture as well.  We are seeing what happens in the world when the thoughts of wokeness, transgenderism, the swamp, the deep state, atheism, and satanism prevail.  This is where the real battle is.  The scripture below reveals  where thoughts come from that are contrary to true science, true economics, true health information, true education, true anything.  Thoughts that steal, kill and destroy, contrary to the truth, come from this realm.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This is the origin of these thoughts contrary to truth.

John 18:38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

Prior to this event, Jesus had said this to his disciples.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Anything that is of life, that brings life, comes from the Lord, “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is One Lord.”  He is not simply a “religious Lord”, he is the Lord of all that brings life in the culture.  He is the Lord of “male and female” versus “transgenderism”.  He is the Lord of “if a man will not work neither will he eat” versus “socialism” and “communism”.  He is the Lord of a just legal system versus “two- or three-tiers” of justice.  He is Lord of true healing versus “medical procedures and jabs for profit”.  He is the Lord of peace versus “war for the profits of the military industrial complex and its backers”.

Jesus Christ is Lord of all.

Why Starting in the Old Testament Helps Us Understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the New Testament

Tissot-the-descent-from-the-cross

By starting in Genesis, with the Fall of mankind, the importance of Jesus Christ becomes apparent.

If a person starts only in the New Testament, there might be a tendency to think that Jesus is simply a philosophical alternative to whatever else is out there.  Instead of “fill in the blank”, I now believe in Jesus.

But it is more than that.

Mankind at creation had fellowship with God.

Mankind lost that fellowship in the Fall.

Mankind was without hope.   The broken state of mankind was carried on generation after generation.   Mankind was cut off from fellowship with God.   The promise of a Redeemer were given through a covenant with Abraham, carried down through Israel; ultimately Jesus Christ came through that lineage for all mankind.  The summary of a person’s “before salvation through Jesus Christ” state is this; all individuals born on this planet are born in this state.

Ephesisans 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

The summary of a person’s state after being born again and reconciled to God through Christ Jesus is this.

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

This is why Jesus is not simply another name, another philospher, another religious figure, another teacher, another prophet. Jesus did operate as a prophet, as a teacher; he is considered a religious figure.

But beyond all that, the main thing that Jesus did is to live a sinless life as the Son of God, and then die, so the sinless Lamb of God’s Blood could be shed to satisfy the just demands of Heaven. There was and is no other way to reconciliation to God except through the Blood and Cross of Jesus Christ.

I Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Jesus Christ is not just a thought, a different religious leader’s name. Jesus Christ provided the legal remedy for the Fall, but it is up to each individual to receive it.

Etymology of Words

Etymology reveals the historical sources of words.  English is a language where the words have historical origins.  Sometimes the sources are Old English, French, Germanic or words may be sourced from other languages.  Sometimes actual words and phrases make it wholesale into the English language as idioms such as “que sera sera”.

Sometimes the historical root is discernable.

Dunamis —> dynamite

shep herd (man who herds sheep) —> shepherd

But sometimes there is not a direct connection.  For example, “secant” is a mathematical term.  If sometime tries to say that “see can’t” became “secant”, that would be incorrect.

So to say “Rosh” is “Russia” is a maybe, not a certainty, and if it is not a certainty then perhaps some current views of prophecy may have to be modified.  More information.

Making Russia the “bad guy” has seemed to work for Biblical interpretation for a while.  However, at this point, Russia is upholding traditional family values and the Christian Orthodox church while the “State” in the United States wars against Christianity and the family.   It would seem the “bad guy” is the United States that has various ills with world wide implications.  Regardless of whether there are individuals who do not agree with the government, what is happening at the highest levels?

People’s eschatalogical views will either cause them to take part in bringing about righteous government and righteousness in every venue of society’s existence, or it will cause people to take a “que sera sera” view and complacently sit on the sidelines waiting for Jesus to come.   Because there has been a predominant  eschatalogical view in the United States that has involved several factors, including Russia, it has led to a certain amount of disobedience to this command.

Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

That Rock was Christ

Foster Bible Pictures 0066-1 Moses Has Struck the Rock with His Rod, and Water Is Coming Out

Paul the apostle said that the lessons of Israel in the Old Testament were written as an example.

I Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

Here is another example that teaches cause and effect, sowing and reaping.

Judges 10:1 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the Lord, and served not him.

7 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.

8 And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

9 Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.

10 And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.

11 And the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

12 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.

13 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

14 Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.

15 And the children of Israel said unto the Lord, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the Lord: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Porn is not a First Amendment Right; It is criminal

Actor Ricky Schroder: The Porn Pushers Have No 1st Amendment Rights

I should point out that I am not connected to the author of the article.  This is a separate comment.

As the article points out, the Founding Fathers had their foundation on the Word of God and common law, not on the lusts of the flesh.

To understand the spirit of the law as it was written, the historical meanings of law and grammar matter.  Read through the article and you will understand that statement.

This is why it is not good to dumb down people or to feed into their desire to be dumbed down.  Eventually people won’t have the brain power or thought process to resist the takeover of the AIs who know how to move humanity step-by-step away from history, law, and western civilization’s foundation on what is called Judeo/Christian ethics; that is rapidly being destroyed through a multi-point attack.  To sit by and do nothing, to not point it out, is to participate in that destruction by default.

Details matter.  The little foxes destroy the vines.  He that is faithful in that which is least, including the least meaning of grammar and details of history, which will preserve the much.  Civilizations are built on foundations of history, law, and the traditional grammatical meanings of words and grammar (which is why they want to change the grammar rules and meanings of words).  He that is faithful in that which is least will be faithful in that which is much … preserving the Constitution.  It is necessary to understand what the Founding Fathers understood when they created the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.  They understood that mankind since the Fall has been born with a sinful nature (until redeemed through individual choice in Jesus Christ and given a new nature) and they understood that sinful man could be tempted with power and and due to that, they separated the powers in order to give ballast to the “ship of state” against man’s sinful nature.

Isaiah 33:22 For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.

There has been a presumption, which I oppose because it makes people lazy and passive, that because Jesus is returning (and He is), that we don’t have to bother with history, law, government, or politics.  And so some of the church has bowed out.  It is not standard across the board regarding denominations or even those within certain denominations, but certainly the passivity exists.

Until the Second Coming is evidently here in full, Jesus said, “Occupy till I come.” (Luke.” 19:13)  We are stewards of this planet.  That is not only stewards of the gospel.  Yes, of course, people need to be born again so they don’t end up in hell when they walk out of this life.  And even the best philanthropist still needs to be born again because it is a matter of reconnecting to God, not works, and even multitudes of good works do not reestablish a connection with God in becoming his child.  The new birth through Jesus Christ is the main thing for all, regardless of status.  But to preach the gospel fully you need a free nation, free communications, free speech, free communications, one tiered judicial system, and righteous government.  You need a government that does not interfere with the economy and the free flow of goods and services. To preach the gospel fully by necessity involves stewardship of all venues of society because it is difficult to preach the gospel in a nation run by atheists, satanists, and woke agendas.  It is difficult to raise children when they are surrounded by the sewage of a nation.

There is one thing I learned when I clocked nearly 80,000 calls in the 2020 election surveying voters.  People would ask, “Who is more popular?”  I would say “Trump”.  But I added a caveat similar to this … “but the few who are on the other side are way more aggressive and rabid.”  And that concerned me.  I was not convinced of a good outcome simply because more people were for Trump.  And that concern has proven to be correct.

The foundations have been destroyed and there is plenty of work required in order to participate in rebuilding according to the original foundations.

If you say that is “meanie speech”, well, “tough love”.  Wimpy coaches don’t win ball games.

An aspect of Christianity that is not standard across all denominations, which operates in some more than others, is that citizenship gets spiritualized into the kingdom of heaven.

Daniel interpreted a dream/vision for King Nebuchadnezzer.  It is recorded in Daniel 2.

One part of the interpretation was this.

Daniel 2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

It is, as far as I know, universally accepted that Daniel corrected predicted the succession of nations.  This is why they try to dispute that Daniel was a real historical figure.  Liberal theologians (are they actually born again and able to hear the Holy Spirit?) refuse to believe that Daniel supernaturally was given the correct interpretation by the Lord God about the historical succession of nations on the earth.  But Jesus believed that Daniel was a real person.  Jesus referred to Daniel and we know Jesus did not lie, that would have been a sin.  Jesus lived a sinless life in order to redeem mankind from sin.  Jesus is the the sinless Lamb of God and so had to have told the truth about Daniel.  So Daniel and his prophecy existed.

Was there a “bait and switch” from dealing with natural successions of kingdoms to a spiritual kingdom?

If the interpretation referred to succession of natural kingdoms, then we need to be concerned about the state of natural kingdoms as well, i.e., “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”.  At some point the kingdom of heaven will fully invade this kingdom on earth.

Matthew 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

At this point in time, we need to be concerned about those laws that are the most reflective of the kingdom of heaven, righteous laws, that reflect the respect for life, the family unit, and private property, laws that are reflective of the Old Testament laws and commandments.

The primarily Christian Founding Fathers spent a lot of time and prayer and thought and historical reflection when they created the founding documents of the United States.  Both documents are necessary.  The Declaration of Independence is the mission statement and the Constitution is the nuts and bolts of how that is done.  You cannot separate one from the other.

The Declaration of Independence talks about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Pornography, which leads to things like pedophilia, rape, abortions, and the dismantling of the family is not conducive to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

All things are not equal.

  • Abortion is not the same as giving birth to a baby.
  • Fornication and adultery are not the same as marriage and the family.
  • Destroying private property with energy weapons from space, HAARP, or stealing it through crashing economies and picking up pieces of real estate for pennies on the dollar; or going to war, destroying nations, and coming in as “saviours” to rebuild and profit  is not the same as respecting private property.
  • Stealing elections in a coup is the not the same as having honest elections.
  • Truth is not the same as a lie.
  • Bribery is not the same as refusing bribery.
  • Tiered levels of justice is not the same as equal justice for all.
  • Health practices built on the original historic Hippocratic oath are not the same as toxic jabs created to ensure a revenue stream for the profit of the stakeholders.

There are differences between good and evil and  western civilization was built on refusing things that were destructive and choosing those that lead to life.  Inasmuch and wherever it followed the Lord, Western civilization was built upon this maxim from the Old Testament.

Deuteronomy 30:I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Western civilization is in a period of regression because it has backslidden.  Part of the reason for that is the shift to the focus solely on the spiritual kingdom.  It is the everlasting kingdom.  It does extend beyond death.  And because all mankind has inherited the sin nature from Adam and the Fall, and there is no way out of the effects of the Fall except through Jesus, it is necessary to enter into the kingdom of heaven through the new birth in Jesus Christ while here on earth to be a part of that kingdom after the death of the physical body.

While that kingdom of heaven is the everlasting kingdom, that exists now and beyond death, and people do need to choose to enter into that kingdom through Jesus so they don’t end in hell by default after death simply due to being in the spiritually genetic line of sin since the Fall of Adam, Jesus said,  “Occupy till I come.”  Part of that “occupying” has to be keeping godly jurisprudence and electing the most righteous and Constitution-abiding leaders to office so that the natural environment is most propitious to the spreading of the gospel.

We are being tested for that is kingdom that is coming by how we function on the earth that now is.

Isaiah 59

Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

5 They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.

11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;

13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.

21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

Ananias and Sapphira

Ananias drops dead after having secretly withheld part of hi Wellcome V0034971

“Ananias drops dead after having secretly withheld part….”
See page for author, CC BY 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons

Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
